"We are delighted to have found a partner in Unitymedia who has recognised the positive outlook for the broadband cable market and is aligning its business model with this forward-looking form of connectivity," says Hubert Kluske, Managing Director of mobilcom-debitel Shop GmbH. "We are also reviewing options for potential collaborations with other cable operators. The aim in the medium term is to be able to offer our customers all over Germany broadband connectivity via cable TV."
Unitymedia CEO Lutz Schüler adds: "We are pleased that the co-operation will help to push forward the proliferation of our brand and our offer, so that mobilcom-debitel’s customers can from now on benefit from Unitymedia’s range of services in our territories."
The present collaboration agreement was preceded by a several-week trial phase that was run in some 15 mobilcom-debitel shops since September. mobilcom-debitel’s entry into the sale of broadband and television services was triggered by the successful trial run and huge interest on the part of customers. The rollout to the telecommunications provider’s other shops in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse will be completed in this year.
